Slide notes: When we log on to an IES service, we will always have some or other start up menu, and we can set this on our "Preferences". Although IES is a really big system with many menu options and functions, it is also absolutely easy to navigate. We are always working in some Business Datamart, and if we want to change to another, we can just quit the current Application Menu and choose another Datamart.

Slide 5

Slide notes: When we have the Application Menu in a selected Datamart on our screen, we can choose any Application that is shown, because the system will only show a User the Applications that he or she has access to.

Slide 6

Slide notes:

Slide 7

Slide notes: When we select an Application, then the menu for that Application is opened.

Slide 8

Slide notes: On any screen, whether Data Entry, Enquiry, Menu or other, we can also right-click for quick Navigation to favorite options and many other functions. In this case, the system shows the recent options we have used, and we can select any option shown here, for re-entry.

Slide notes: The options can also be toggled between 'recent options' and 'favorite options', and toggled back at any time.

Slide 16

Slide notes:

Slide 17

Slide notes: Since we have already used the toggle option, a right-click will now result in favorite options being shown, and any of these can be selected for entry.

Slide 21

Slide notes: Even on the data screen, we can do the same thing.

Slide 22

Slide notes:

Slide 23

Slide notes:

Slide 24

Slide notes: And we can also exit or quit a screen by using a stated QUIT command option or by simply using the Screen Quit icon which is always present, for any screen form.

Slide 26

Slide notes:

Slide 27

Slide notes: As we quit screens, we always return to the screen we had open just before we opened

the next one.

Slide 28

Slide 29

Slide notes:

Slide 30

Slide notes: Eventually, we will always be back at the main Application Menu for the Datamart, and here we can choose another Application, or quit the Application Menu and choose a different Datamart to work in.

Slide 40

Slide notes: If for some reason we are looking for an option and cannot find it, we can also use the "How do I?" function.

Slide 41

Slide notes:

Slide 42

Slide notes:

Slide 43

Slide notes:

Slide 44

Slide notes: The "How do I" function can find all available options in the system, even when we do not have access to it and therefore cannot find it on our own menu. We just type a word or search string to look for, and choose "search".

Slide 45

Slide notes:

Slide 46

Slide notes: Now we can see all the available menu options for Receipts, and the system is also showing in each case whether it can be performed from here, and whether the current User has access to the option.

Slide 47

Slide notes: To perform an option, just dbl-click it.

Slide 48

Slide notes: Now we can add it to our Companion, or just execute it straight away.

Slide 49

Slide notes:

Slide 50

Slide notes: So this Receipt Journal option has now been reached through "How do I", without navigating to a menu to find it.

Slide 52

Slide notes:

Slide 53

Slide notes: Navigation in IES is comprehensive, flexible and easy.
